After much stress, I've come to a tough decision. The sofa was both maxing out my little work space and causing me a lot of stress. Since I don't feel I have the time to make it properly, I've altered the pattern and am now making a chair. I can't even tell you how relieved I feel to have made this decision.
Oh, and inspired by this post, the photo above (of the new chair measurements) was taken with my iPhone and uploaded to Tittr.
