and speaking of San Francisco...
A while back, I alluded to an opportunity that developed at New York Gift. Well, I'm finally ready to spill the beans. I was invited to participate in a jewelry trunk show at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art!
I'm so psyched! I've never been to San Francisco before, and I've convinced Joe to come with me and spend a couple of days site-seeing. So in April, its off to San Francisco. I have a (long) list of things I can't wait to see, but in the mean time, if anyone has any suggestions of things for us to do, I'd love to hear them!

You should definitely spend some time in Muir Woods. I've been to San Francisco several times and it's one of my favorite places to go when I'm there. In fact, I'll be out there again in June!
Megan,
I am very glad that you are excited bout visiting San Francisco. It is a fabulous city. Your welcome to call me for some ideas about what to see and do.
I would like to comment however on the fact that the trunk shows at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art offers a discount to the members which comes out of the artist's pocket. Since this trunk show is supposed to be a "perk" for membership with the museum, and represents the relationship of the museum with the membership specifically, it is a total rip off that the discount comes from the artist's percent of the retail purchase price. The discount to the members should come out of the museum's profit, not the artists.
Yes, I realize the museum is sponsoring the event with promotion and using it's space; on the other hand, artist's have expenses for travel, accommodation's, and retail display. The artists are coming to work not go on a vacation.
There is definitely more to say about this topic, but will wait to see how many toes I've stepped on already. You can always respond on my blog: http://askharriete.typepad.com/
christina - thanks for the tip! my husband is much more of an outdoorsy guy than a city guy, so we'll be sure to add that to our list of places to go.

Obviously I love that place.
Enjoy your trip.
