wish i was there + contest

I saw this photo on Creature Comforts this morning and definitely had a "wish i was there" moment. Let the countdown to April commence...

But Joe and I are headed to Ohio this weekend to visit some friends, which is still more fun than staying home.

Plus, in honor of my birthday next week, I'm holding a little contest. Leave me a comment sometime between now and Monday letting me know if you could go anywhere in the world this weekend, where would it be and why? I'll randomly choose one lucky person and send them a fun surprise (of the wearable, made by me variety).

Happy weekend!

I hope you have fun in Ohio, and Happy Early Birthday!

If I could go anywhere in the world this weekend, it would be to our old family cabin (no longer ours :( ) at Fallen Leaf Lake...it'd be chilly, but the views and smells make up for it!

If I could go anywhere, I would go to Christmas dinner with all my grandparents (all deceased), parents and siblings. I don't care if this weekend is not Christmas!

Hmmm, this was a tough one. But I think I'd go back to the Outer Banks where I went this summer with Gavin and his whole family.

Either that or I'd go out drinking with my brother.

Happy Birthday!
...if I could go anywhere, I'd love to visit Mexico during the Dias de los Muertos celebration. I'd love to experience the celebration of the dead in person; to see all the care that goes into decorating the graves and altars. the flowers, the candles, the food. My dad (who's Mexican) says there's even a little island that gets totally lit up with candles for the occasion. How gorgeous!

Interestingly, I'm where your "wish I was there" photo was taken. Well, I'm on the other side of the bridge, looking across to Marin... but very close. And I have to say, I wake up just about every morning very glad that I am here!

If I wasn't in SF, I think I would like to be in Japan. I've never been, but work with so many Japanese people I've been craving the food lately!

If could pick up and go anywhere right now it would be scottsdale, az. A very special friend of ours is bravely fighting leukemia. He has been given really aggressive chemo and is in isolation.

He is in his early 70's and has so much more to offer the world. I would go there and give him the biggest longest hug and tell him he loved.
