I believe my third weekend in a month of sitting out in the rain while people don't buy my work but comment on how steel necklaces shouldn't cost $70 because "isn't steel cheap?" may have broken my spirit. (Or at deterred me from any desire to do outdoor craft shows ever again.) I'm beginning to think this is a very dumb way to make a living.
ayyyyyy! Well, I'm sorry Megan...this show is in Philadelphia yes? Anyhow, yeah, sitting out in the rain when no one is buying your work definitely does not sound fun!
I hope Santa Fe went well...Ivan had great things to say...hope to talk to you soon!
How do you even respond to that statement??? I had people exclaim as they turned my pieces over for pricing, "Woah, I didn't think it would cost this much!" They were looking at a large enameled pendant on sterling that I had pierced and sawed the shape out- and it was $65. sigh.
Luckily (I think) I didn't have to respond because the woman actually made the comment to Annie, in Annie's booth - but obviously Annie realized she was talking about my work. But I still wanted to scream.
